R&G's entire range of Engine Case Covers (ECCs) have now been approved by the American Motorcycling Association (AMA) for use in any competition sanctioned by the Organisation. The AMA approval means that racers and teams running in events and championships under its banner now have the security of using a product that has been heavily tested, meeting and exceeding the specifications required for racing, as set down by the AMA for protection of engine cases in the event of a crash or drop. Please make sure the engine is cold before proceeding with the fitting of the R&G cover. Remove the oil filler cap. Remove the four engine case bolts arrowed above.
Hold the cover loosely over the case to help identify the correct ones. DO NOT REMOVE ALL OF THE CASE BOLTS. If fitting to the MOTO CAGE, remove the OEM crash bar by removing the three mounting bolts to remove the bar and give access to the engine case bolts Offer up the R&G cover to the engine and carefully fit it over the engine casing. Ensure that the three R&G bolts are lined up with the holes in the engine casing, and then push on as far as it will go. Fit the bolts through the Engine Case Cover and into the engine case.
With a 5mm Allen key tighten the bolts equally so that they pull the cover into place. Finally use a torque wrench set at 10 Nm (7 Lb ft) to fully tighten. Refit the oil filler cap. If fitting to the MOTO CAGE, re-fit the OEM crash bar and protector with the three mounting bolts as removed. It is suggested that you check the tightness of the mounting bolts on a regular basis i.When cleaning or once a month. NOTE for the cleaning of this product you should only use a soft polishing cloth and a mild general cleaning agent. IF IN DOUBT DO NOT USE AS THEY COULD ALTER THE STRENGTH OF THE COVER. R&G will accept no liability if the above procedure and torque settings are not followed.
